William H. "Bill" Bayne's Obituary
Mr. William H. “Bill” Bayne, 84, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, in Muskegon. He was born January 4, 1939, in Muskegon and lived almost all of his life here. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran and attended Discovering Christ Church (formerly Fifth Reformed). He worked for several years as a truck driver and then served with the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department, retiring after 27 years. Following retirement, he was a bus driver and a quarter horse breeder. On July 7, 1977, Bill married Carolyn A. Balcom and she survives him along with nine children: David (Mona) Bayne, Robert (Holly) Bayne, Kenneth (Tammy) Bayne, Melynda (Jeffery) Reed, Monica (Terry) Griffin, Gary Bayne, Sue (David) Weatherbee, Jeffery Balcom, Patrica (Kim) Gradisher; 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; brothers: Richard (Mary) Bayne, Donald (Jeanetta) Bayne, Ronald Bayne, Jerry Messinger; sister: Marva Raymond; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Kelly, and sisters Florance and Helen. and A service to remember and celebrate Bill’s life will be held Monday, June 5, at 11:00 AM at Discovering Christ Church, 2330 Holton Rd., N. Muskegon, MI 49445. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Contributions in memory of Mr. Bayne may be made the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
