William "Bill" T. Ryan's Obituary
William T. “Bill” Ryan, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Born on February 3, 1935, in Chicago, IL, to Jeremiah and Grace (Wilhelm) Ryan, Bill moved to the Muskegon area at a young age, where he developed a strong work ethic. He was the proud owner and operator of Ryan’s Transmission in Muskegon for 30 years. He also owned a muffler shop and after retirement he kept busy driving semi truck and working on farms.
A true jack of all trades, Bill had a knack for fixing anything and always stayed busy with projects. He enjoyed traveling, purchasing items such as horses and tractors, and ventured into horse racing. Bill lived a rich and fulfilling life, embracing each day with purpose and passion.
On October 15, 1955 he married the former Carol Piper in Muskegon and together they just celebrated 69 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include his wife Carol; three daughters, Terri (Ron) Pouch, Susan (John) Dalrymple, and Kimberly Rutledge; three grandchildren, William “Will” Parker, Jillian (Brandonn) Kramer and Kaylene (Matt) Carson; four great grandchildren, Kelci, McKennah, Kendahl, and Landon; sister, Lolly (Jerry) Kamerschen and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jerry, Charlie and James Ryan and step-brother, Cliff Popps.
The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, December 6, 2024 at St. Thomas Catholic Church (3252 Apple Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442). VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the Mass at church, from 10-11 AM. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence will be appreciated.
