William "Bill" K. VerHulst's Obituary
William K. “Bill” VerHulst, age 67, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 2, 2025 in Muskegon. Bill was born on June 23, 1957 in Muskegon to Lewis and Lila (Goodrich) VerHulst. He worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at St. Joseph's Indian School in South Dakota for eight years before returning to his hometown of Muskegon. Prior to moving to South Dakota, Bill worked at Maxi State Prison for boys as a substance abuse counselor for 20 years. He was an avid writer, currently working on a fantasy novel, and a lifelong Detroit Lions fan who held season tickets for several years. SURVIVORS include his son, Kyle (Lauren) VerHulst; step-daughters, Jena Wines and Renee (Jordan) Bradley; step-son, Charlie Wines; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Gordon (Jill) VerHulst, Tom (Sally) VerHulst, Carol (Len) Stark, and Larry (Christine) VerHulst. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Vivian Medley and Barbara VerHulst. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
