William "Bill" D. Walters' Obituary
William D. “Bill” Walters, age 89, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Grand Haven. He was born on November 12, 1934 in Muskegon to Fred and Lorene (Cheatham) Walters and was a life resident of the area.
Bill proudly served as a Veteran of the United States Army. He had a passion for gardening, particularly growing tomatoes, which he generously shared with family and neighbors. Bill took pleasure in solving crossword puzzles and reading John Grisham novels, even embracing modern technology to enjoy his hobbies. Known for his storytelling, he often found humor in his own tales. Together with his wife, Bill lovingly cared for many children in the family and the neighborhood over the years.
Bill worked at Muskegon Piston Ring, where he met his wife of 51 years, the former Donna Langlois. Donna preceded Bill in death on January 10, 2021. Also preceding Bill in death were his siblings: Fred Walters, Ed (Helen) Walters, Russ Walters, Jean (Ed) Schmeltzer, Joan (Clair) St. Clair, Frank Walters, Chuck Walters, Lynn Jones; and sister-in-law, Sandra Walters.
