William G. Blakeslee's Obituary
Mr. William G. “Bill” Blakeslee, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15 at his home. He was born on November 3, 1958 to Gordan and Virginia (Barrett) Blakeslee in Lansing, MI. On August 16, 1980 he married the former Phyllis MacLaren in Smyrna, MI. Bill enjoyed spending his time camping, hunting and singing and was a ‘Trekkie.’ He was an active member of Connection Point Church where he served as a church delegate, Sunday school teacher and was a part of Men’s Council. Bill was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians and was a founder and past president of the West Michigan Chapter. Bill’s family meant the world to him, and he cherished the moments he had with them, especially playing with his three grandchildren. Bill will be missed by his wife of 39 years, Phyllis; daughters, Tina (John) Hendrickson and Christa DeVowe; grandchildren, Kelvyn Hendrickson, Kaitlyn DeVowe and Evelyn Hendrickson; mother, Virginia; sisters, Donna (Howard) Wells and Diane (Francis) Rockwell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gordan. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Friday, February 21 at Connection Point Church (2270 S. Mill Iron Rd., 49442) with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, February 20 from 6-8PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI, 49444, and one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM at church. Memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to Connection Point Church Youth.
