Mr. William C. Carpenter's Obituary
Mr. William C. Carpenter, 84, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017, in Muskegon. He was born November 25, 1932 to Michael and Helen (Bergren) Carpenter in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Carpenter worked as a brick mason for his entire career, was a member of Local #5, and was employed by S.D. Warren/Sappi before retiring in 1995. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, had been a Trustee with Cedar Creek Township, and loved the outdoors and camping. He and Joyce were members of the Happy Wanderer’s Camping Club. On August 3, 1957 he married Joyce C. Wiest, and she survives him along with 2 sons, Todd S. (Michelle) Carpenter, Bradley W. (Kathy) Carpenter; 8 grandchildren, Mindy (Nick), Chuck, Cody, Christopher, Micaela, Jackie (Dustin), Rachel (Carson) and Lisa; 6 great-grandchildren; his twin-sister, Elizabeth Zeckzer. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Charles E. Carpenter, and a brother, Michael Carpenter. A memorial service for Mr. Carpenter will be held Friday, November 3, at 2:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6294 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service.
