William "Ray" Cook's Obituary
William Raymond “Ray” Cook, age 97, passed away in Sparta, MI, on Friday, March 31, 2023. Ray was born on September 29, 1925, in Trent, MI, to his parents William and Adeline (MacIntyre) Cook. Ray married the former Doris Simon on June 11, 1947, and they spent 73 wonderful years together until she preceded him in death in 2020. Ray worked at Continental Motors in various positions, retiring after 44 years. Ray was very good with his hands and was always building something. Over the years he built a house, a boat, a camper, and many other things for his family. He loved to spend time outside, whether it was fishing, hunting, boating, or camping. Ray and Doris traveled all over the country together in their camper. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his two children: Terry (Barbara) Cook and Carol (Roger) Christianson; two grandchildren: Patrick (Kristy) Cook and Tammy (Jeffery) Wiese; two great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Wiese and Lilly Wiese; and many close nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris, and all his siblings. A FUNERAL will be taking place for Ray at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at The Ravenna Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 3580 Thomas St., Ravenna, MI 49451, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior.
