William J. Crago's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of William John Crago Jr. announces his passing on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the age of 52 after a brief illness. William “Billy” was a resident of Canton, MI, and formerly of Muskegon, MI. Billy was born on August 2, 1968 to Susan (Camp) and William Crago Sr. in Muskegon. A year later on his first birthday, his mother was baking him a cake when she went into labor with his little brother/new best friend/birthday twin, Scott. He attended Muskegon Public Schools. Billy left Muskegon to join the Army. After serving his country in Colorado, Korea, and Germany with the Third Air Defense Artillery Regiment, he attended Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX. He also lived in Oklahoma for a time and then returned to Michigan. Billy took a job at TRUMPF Inc. servicing laser manufacturing machines and moved to the Canton area where he made many friends. He was a member of the VFW Post 6695. He will be missed for his giving nature, intelligence, loyal friendship, and wit. Billy enjoyed spending time with family, riding his motorcycles, playing his guitars, learning new languages, researching topics that interested him, debating his findings with worthy “opponents,” and always lending a helping hand to family and friends in need – no questions asked. Billy is survived by his wife, Isabel Dominguez Crago; father, William Crago Sr.; brothers, Ron Camp, Don Camp (Melissa) Scott Crago (Heidi), Mark Reed and Dustin Sparks; and stepmother, Patrice Sparks. He was beloved by his nieces and nephews – especially Brayden, with whom he had a very special bond and was a great role model to – as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends who became family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Camp Crago and infant nephew, Jaden Crago. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 4-7 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Military Honors to be rendered at 5PM, during visitation. Memorial donations may be made to Gift of Life Michigan as Billy was a registered donor and will live on in donor recipients.
