William G. "Bill" Curtis' Obituary
William G. “Bill” Curtis, age 69, passed away on November 30, 2016 at Mercy Hospital. He was born on December 18, 1946 to Roy (Sr.) and Shirley (Settle) Curtis in Muskegon. Prior to retiring in 2011, Bill had worked for the Muskegon Water Treatment Facility. He served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam and the community of Egelston as a firefighter from 1980 to 1998. Bill enjoyed golfing as a passion but liked yardwork, and spending time with his two dogs, Schatzie, Minnie and the belated Mr. Wiggles. On December 5, 1986 he married his loving wife, Michelle Deater and she survives him along with his 2 children, Tonya (Mark) Drum and Dustin Curtis; 2 grandchildren, Shane and Adam Drum; and brother, Roy Jr. (Mary) Curtis. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Gerald Deater; sister, Lynn Woodyard and brother, Roger Curtis. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown. VISITATION with the family will be on Monday from 5 -7 PM at the funeral home. Please consider in lieu of flowers a donation to Pound Buddies of Muskegon. Interment will take place at a later date at Norton Cemetery.
