Mr. William Leon Cyr, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. William Leon Cyr, Sr., age 89, passed away Thursday evening, September 20, 2012. He was born August 28, 1923 in Detroit, MI to Charles and Edith (Stone) Cyr. Mr. Cyr was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII and a member of Samuel Lutheran Church. He was the purchasing director for Westran Corporation for over 50 years before retiring in 1994. Mr. Cyr enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking the kids on very nice trips, and swimming at the YMCA. On January 3, 1953 he married the former JoAnne Miller in Muskegon, and she survives him along with 8 children, Deborah (Jerome) Price of Ashland, OR, Kim (Nancy) Cyr of Twin Lake, Kevin (Kathy) Cyr of Shelby, Kris Cyr, Kelly (Claudia) Cyr both of Muskegon, Kurt (Jeanie) Cyr of Shelby, Suzanne (Robert) Thomas of South Bend, IN, William (Christina) Cyr, Jr. of Buckeye, AZ; 26 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris (Dale) Wright of Muskegon. He was preceded in death his parents; 2 brothers, Wellington and Wilfrid; and sister, Audrey Bakeman. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Samuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Marcy Miller officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the Samuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
