Mr. William Russell Damm's Obituary
Mr. William Russell Damm, age 93, passed away Friday evening, March 24, 2017. Bill was born September 17, 1923 to Russell J. and Garnet (DeNio) Damm in Grosse Pointe, MI and has lived in this area since 1928. Bill served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. On April 14, 1942, he married the former Jaqueline Marie Krause and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2011. Russ worked as a machinist for Muskegon Piston Ring for more than 30 years, retiring in 1985. He attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a member of VFW # 8846. Russ enjoyed bowling, fishing, and golfing. Most of all, he enjoyed the time spent with his family and is survived by his children, Sharon (Dave) Anderson of Muskegon, Russell Damm of Muskegon, Linda Damm of N. Muskegon, and Ronald Damm of Muskegon; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Damm; and stepbrother, Robert E. Borgerding. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 11 AM Friday, March 31, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1100 Dykstra Rd. with Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak Presiding. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church (10-11 AM). INTERMENT will be in Laketon Township Cemetery with Full Military Rites afforded under the auspices of the VFW Muskegon County Council.
