William Truman Field's Obituary
William Truman Field, age 80, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, August 31, 2020, at home. He was born September 5, 1939, in Grand Rapids, MI to Kenneth William and Alberta (Austin) Field and married his college sweetheart Mary Hayes on September 29, 1962, in Saginaw, MI.
Bill served his country in Army and graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He worked for numerous advertising and marketing agencies in the Chicago area, before retiring to Grand Haven where the family previously vacationed. Bill was a member of St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church in Grand Haven. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His priorities in life were his family and faith. A loyal friend to many. To know him was to love him. He loved a good game of golf, spending time at Lake Michigan, was a voracious reader, and enjoyed traveling (visiting almost all the National Parks in the United States).
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Field; daughter, Ellen (Frank) Hernandez; two sons, Christopher (Amy) Field and Michael (Aubry) Field; six grandchildren: Hunter, Sydney, Henry, Liam, Lincoln and Ian. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Interment will be in Historic Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Folds of Honor or The Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
