William "Bill" Goggin's Obituary
Mr. William “Bill” Goggin, age 74, passed away Friday evening, January 10, 2014 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Bill was born June 2, 1939 in Madison, WI to Ralph and Marguerite (Leannah) Goggin. He was a 1957 graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central. In 1958, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in Germany with the Military Police. Upon his return from service, Bill joined the Muskegon Police Department. He received his degree in criminology from Michigan State University in 1974. Bill went on to become a Michigan State Trooper and later worked in the Michigan Bureau of Licensing and Regulation, retiring in 1993. On January 4, 1992 he married the former Nancy L. Goethals in Muskegon and they spent many years enjoying their time together in St. Petersburg, FL. Bill is SURVIVED his loving wife, Nancy; her children, Tim (Ann) Conzemius, Julie (Kelly) Lindberg and Todd (Kristi) Conzemius; 7 step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marcia Goggin; one niece and several nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Goggin. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 Harvey Street, 231-798-1100 with Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak as celebrant and Full Military Rites afforded under the auspices of the VFW Muskegon County Council. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (2-3:00 PM).
