William E. Griswold's Obituary
William "Bill" Eugene Griswold, aged 67, peacefully passed away at his home in Whitehall, MI, surrounded by his loving family, on August 8, 2023. Born on April 12, 1956, in Muskegon, MI, Bill graduated from Muskegon High School in 1974 and went on to attend Muskegon Community College. He dedicated 45 years of his life as a salesman and manager at Firestone Complete Auto Care, retiring in 2020.
On January 15, 1977, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Karen Mahoney, and together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. A proud resident of Whitehall, MI, Bill had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. He found joy in tending to his yard and observing the birds that visited his feeders, with a special fondness for hummingbirds. Above all, he treasured his family and cherished the moments spent with his beloved grandchildren. Bill's heart was filled with happiness during large family gatherings, where he enjoyed the company of his loved ones.
Bill's passion for stock investing and day trading was unmatched. He was a self-taught investor who eagerly shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for money markets and investments with others.
Bill will forever be remembered with love by his wife, Karen Griswold, his four children: Lisa (Brian) Mott, Lori (Mike) Friesema, Tara (Andy) Morse, and Eric (Dominique) Griswold; and his twelve grandchildren: Kendall, Ryleigh, Gracie, Parker, Eli, Alexis, Adalynn, Charlotte, Avery, Blake, Oliver, and Owen. He is also survived by his siblings: Leone (Mark) Daly Kinzinger, Ken (Kelly) Griswold, and Ray (Kimberly) Griswold; father-in-law, Donald Mahoney; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Griswold-Gabris; stepfather, Joe Gabris; mother-in-law, Gaynor Mahoney; and niece, Corinne Wallace.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will take place at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
