William J."Bill" King, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. William J. “Bill” King, Sr., age 73, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, February 13, 2016, in Cabo, San Jose, Mexico while vacationing with his wife, Liz; and friends. He was born January 29, 1943 in Spring Lake and has resided in the Muskegon area most of his life. Bill was a veteran of Michigan National Guard. He had been employed at West Michigan Burial Vault for over 43 years; and had previously worked at Smalligan’s Bike Shop. He was a long time member of the Snow-Putters Golf League at Chase Hammond; and enjoyed hunting, camping and grilling. Bill was married to the former Marsha Wiegand and then on March 2, 1987 he married the former Elizabeth P. Ruba, who survives him along with his 4 children, William J. King, Jr., Traci Mines, Amanda (Jeff) Miles and Nicole King; 3 grandsons, Nicholas and Derek Mines and Jackson Miles; 1 great-granddaughter, Azalea Mines; 4 brothers, John (Diane) King, Jack (Jean) Michele, Robert (Beverly) Michele and Charles (Ellen) Michele; 3 sisters, Joanne (David) Bruinsma, Mary Lou (James) Kramer and Barbara (Ed) Scott. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia King, and brothers, Bud (Darlene) Michele and Joe Hoover. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Bill will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100) with The Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery.
