William C. Kroll's Obituary
Mr. William (Bill) Charles Kroll Sr., 81, of Muskegon passed from this life into eternal life on Thursday April 23, 2020, exactly 28 years after he retired, surrounded by his family. Son of the Late Charles and Ann Kroll, Bill was born on September 25, 1938 in San Diego, California. He moved to Michigan when he was very young. He was drafted into the Army on Feb. 8, 1962 through Feb. 7, 1964 and then continued his Military career in the Army Reserves. He proudly served his country for 30 years retiring on April 23, 1992. Bill married Joyce Ann Wellman on November 13, 1970. They loved to do puzzles, play cards, camp, and help others in any way they could. Joyce preceded him in death on June 9, 2013. He will also once again be reunited with his brother Ralph, and sisters Florence and Pat. Bill leaves behind 4 children, Bill Jr., Jo, Dawn (Larry), and Russell, 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, 8 brothers, and a host of very special nieces, nephews, and Friends. Bill loved to spend time with his family especially his Great Grand Children. He was always singing and making everyone laugh. His smile and sense of humor were like no other. Bill was very involved with his church, Our Saviors Lutheran. He spent 50 years leading a Men’s breakfast and Bible study, cooking Easter Breakfast Celebrations, Valentines dinners, Ushering, being the church Treasurer, sitting on the Counsel, the list goes on. He participated in many DeColores Celebrations throughout the years. He was a great Tenor and sang in the church choir as well. Bill always put everyone before himself. His summers were spent managing Lake Sch Nepp A Ho Campground, he wanted a place where his children, grand children and now great grand children could get out of the city and enjoy the outdoors every summer. He loved to fish and taught all of his children and grand children his tips and tricks. Per his wishes a memorial service will be held when we can once again gather together. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
