William Mallory's Obituary
Mr. William “Sunny” Mallory, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in Muskegon. He was born in Columbus, Arkansas on September 13, 1938 to Crawford and Gladys (George) Mallory and moved to Muskegon as a child. Bill graduated from Muskegon Heights High School, class of 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Bill was employed as a Corrections Specialist for the Muskegon Department of Corrections for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1998. After his retirement, he continued to work 10 additional years with the Touchstone Community Corrections and KPEP program. Bill enjoyed walking, fishing, and picking apples. He also enjoyed traveling and trips to Hawaii, San Diego, California, and Petosky were amongst his favorites. Bill is survived by his significant other of 25 years, Linda Robinson; his daughter, Anitra (LaKhaun) McKinley; his wife, Dorothy Mallory; two granddaughters, Micah and Nylah; two sisters, Anna Mae Melton and Pearlie Mae Mallory; his favorite niece, Debbie (Calvin) Smith; many nieces and nephews; and all of Linda’s family who loved Bill greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jacqueline Rucker; son, James; and siblings, Floyd Mallory, Levester Mallory, Viralee Banks, Lois Fay Gordon, and Viester Akins. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Daryl Jefferson officiating.
