Sheryl Hubbell
I am Bill’s younger daughter, Sheryl (Sherry.) He and our mother divorced after a short marriage. My memories of him end when I was probably 7 or so. He tried to be a “fun” part-time dad, I guess. I do remember a lady who made massive birthday cakes for me & my older sister Lisa. I remember spending a lot of our visit time at the home of Bill’s best friends, a married couple with kids older than us. He used the word “dude” decades before ‘The Big Lebowski.’ He was a lifelong alcoholic, for real. It definitely had something to do with his being cut out of our lives. Lisa took care of Bill when he was very old, made his death arrangements, etc. I was nowhere in his life. I enlisted in the military in my early 20s, left Michigan for a long time. I guess we never really bonded. Lisa & I have been estranged for many years. Our mother, Leslie, killed herself in 1979. Very sad all the way around.
