William "Buggs" Moran's Obituary
William “Buggs” F. Moran, age 93, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in Norton Shores, MI. Bill was born in Belding, MI, on May 28, 1932, to Paul and Loretta (White) Moran. He graduated from Belding High School, and soon after served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home from the service he spent a few years working for the family car dealership in Belding, Moran Motor Sales. He then went on to work for The Chesapeake & Ohio Railway for 33 years prior to retiring. Bill loved spending time working on cars and spending time outdoors, especially working in his yard and planting random trees. He had a lifelong appreciation for cars, and whomever he met he would ask what they drove. In his younger years he enjoyed dancing, skating, skiing, playing tennis, and bike riding. He liked Irish music and had an appreciation for Irish whiskey. He enjoyed spending many winters over the years at his place in Georgia. He was very independent, had a quick wit, and loved getting to know people. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially when they were babies.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his six children: Maureen (Rebecca Wright) Moran, Peggy (Klay) DeVree, Joseph (Thressa) Moran, Melanie (Joseph) Uebbing, Laurie (Jeff) Tanis, and Mark (Marion) Moran; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Mumby. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: James, John, and Daniel Moran.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Bill at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. As Buggs would say, “aren’t you glad you met me?”
