William Ernest Neumann Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. William Ernest Neumann, Sr., age 91, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on September 3, 1926 to Otto and Nellie (Schroeder) Neumann. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and served in WWII. He was employed as a supply officer for MichCon prior to his retirement in 1990, and had previously worked as a diesel mechanic for Refiners Transport. Bill was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Lakeside Vets Club, and VFW Post #446. He enjoyed bow hunting and camping. William took great pride in his home and was very skilled in the woodworking, plumbing, electrical, and mechanic trades. On September 12, 1953, William married the former Marian May in Conklin, Michigan and she survives him along with two children, William E. (Lori) Neumann, Jr. and Mary Ann (Scott) Waterhouse; two grandchildren, Zachary Neumann and Elizabeth Waterhouse; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Finn; and one sister, Shirley (Fred) Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, William O. Neumann; and one sister, Dorothy Bouchard. SERVICES will be 3:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. Fr. Norman Droski presiding. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIALS in his memory may be directed to St. Michael’s Church or United Cerebral Palsy Association.
