William Arthur Newmyer's Obituary
William A. Newmyer, age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 27, 2012 at a local care facility following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on February 28, 1927 to Joseph and Irene (Emmons) Newmyer. Mr. Newmyer was a 1945 graduate of Muskegon High School and furthered his formal education at Muskegon Business College. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and was the former owner and president of Yonker’s Supply Company, retiring in 1988. He married the former Doris (DeYoung) on April 16, 1948. Doris preceded Bill in death on March 2, 2006. Bill was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church. He was a former member of the Muskegon Old News Boys; the Fruitport Lions Club; and the Muskegon Contractors Association. Bill was an avid camper, fisherman, and later in life, deer hunter. He is survived by: his six children, David (Helen) Newmyer of Muskegon, Susan (Ronald) Kruis of Grand Rapids, Thomas (Janice) Newmyer of Fruitport, Kathy (Gary) Kriebel of Fruitport, Edward Newmyer of Fruitport and Scott (Heather) Newmyer of Fruitport; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Jean) Newmyer of Oceanside, CA; and two sisters, Maude Weaver of Muskegon and Joyce Newmyer of East Lansing. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Jantina Dynes and brother, Lewis Newmyer. The funeral service will be held at: Fellowship Reformed Church, 4200 Apple Ave., 11:00 A.M., Thursday, Rev. Greg VanderMeer officiating. Visitation will be held at:
