Mr. William "Bill" Paquin's Obituary
Mr. William Louis “Bill” Paquin, age 79, passed away Wednesday evening, January 3, 2018 in Kalamazoo at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Bill was born November 30, 1938 in Muskegon to Warren and Irene (Searer) Paquin. On April 22, 1960 he married the former Judith Bogema and she survives him. Bill was an Insurance agent with AAA Insurance for close to 40 years before retiring in 2002. Bill and Judy were long time members of Samuel Lutheran Church where Bill ushered and sang in the choir. A Muskegon graduate and Big Red season ticket holder, he was able to watch his team win the State Championship at Ford Field in late November. Bill was also a huge Tigers fan, watching them in Lakeland, FL, for the past 30 years. He was a Y member for over 40 years, loving his time spent playing basketball. Bill was also a former member of the Greater Muskegon Jaycees and served on his Muskegon High School class reunion committee . He ran the Mackinaw Island Marathon and several River Bank Runs in Grand Rapids. Bill enjoyed cross country skiing, snowmobiling, jet skiing, and camping. He and Judy enjoyed pizza at Fricano’s and traveling to Florida, Hawaii, and Mexico. In addition to Judy, his wife of 57 years, Bill is survived by his children, Laura (Nate) Kuhns of Portage and John (Debbie) Paquin of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew and Jessica Paquin, Kevin, Alexis and Sierra Kuhns; a brother, Robert “Jerry” (Darlene) Paquin of Muskegon and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell, Jack, Dan, and Harvey; sisters, Helen Dahlstrom and Marian Marquis. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 12, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey, 231-798-1100, with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. VISITATION will be Thursday, January 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
