William A. "Bill" Richards' Obituary
William A. “Bill” Richards, age 86, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Brookhaven Care Facility in Muskegon. He was born on November 16, 1930 to Lee and Verna (Vanderbeough) Richards in Muskegon. He served his country in the US Army. Bill worked as a carpenter and a fireman for Muskegon Charter Township of which 18 years were served as a lieutenant full-time. Bill enjoyed playing golf, having coffee with his friends and carpentry work. On July 15, 1950, he married Barbara Ann Joslyn and she survives him along with their son, Blake (Sandy) Richards; grandchildren, Heather (Jesse) Morningstar and Adam Richards; great-grandchildren, Colton Morningstar and Liberty Morningstar; brother, George (Betty) Richards along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and best buddy, Bernie O’Connell. A MEMORIAL SERVICE with Military Rites will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
