As a child, my favorite time of year was my family's annual trip to Sparta, right after school got out, staying with my grandparents and seeing aunt, uncles, and cousins. I remember visiting Bill and Marilyn when Cindy was a toddler, and being a bit confused that I had a cousin who already had a family. My mother explained to me that as the youngest of five children, she'd become an aunt when she was only nine. Decades later, Bill and Marilyn came to visit after we'd moved to the hills of northern California. I recall that Marilyn professed to be terrified by the steep, winding road to my parents' home. I'm sure that if I'd had the chance to spend more time with Bill, I would have very much appreciated the dry wit that others have mentioned. RIP, Bill! --Bruce McCulley
