Mr. William L. "Bill" Stuhan's Obituary
Mr. William L. “Bill” Stuhan, age 97, passed away very unexpectedly Sunday morning, August 24, 2014. He was born June 28, 1917 in Muskegon to Julius and Mary (Pipoly) Stuhan. Bill was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was formerly employed by Lakey Foundry and retired from Challenge Machinery in Grand Haven. On October 16, 1946 he married the former Jean T. Nutt in Ravenna and she preceded him in death on February 15, 1994. Bill was his own best mechanic and enjoyed telling jokes and stories. He was an avid gardener and blessed many people with the vegetables he raised. Mr. Stuhan truly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. SURVIVORS include his daughter: Nancy (Bob) Rogers; 2 sons: Tom Stuhan, Chuck (Janis) Stuhan; 2 grandchildren: Shawn (Jim) Cody, Mark (Jen) Brininstool; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mary Christian and Maggie Erb; 3 brothers: Frank Stuhan, Donald (Anna) Stuhan, Robert (Violet) Stuhan; sister-in-law: Bernadine Nutt; many nieces and nephews; special cousin: John Kary; and his devoted dog, Tammi. We will deeply miss Papa. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Francis; sister, Irene Vincent; 2 brothers, John and Eugene Stuhan. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be Celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with the Rosary prayed at 6:00 PM. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
