William "Bill" Sutton Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. William “Bill” Sutton, Sr, age 77, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at home. He was born October 16, 1943 in Lansing to John and Millicent (Marsh) Sutton. On June 18, 1965 he married Karen Smith in Grand Rapids.
Bill served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Ferrysburg Community Church and retired from the Muskegon Public School in 2003 as their custodian foreman. Bill enjoyed hunting, camping and traveling, especially to Florida. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen; four children: William Sutton, Jr. of Ferrysburg, James (Angie) Sutton of Fruitport, Tracey (Kevin) Knollinger, of Spring Lake, and Mindy (Ryan) Burns of Grand Haven Township; thirteen grandchildren: Shaye (Robert) Russell, Haley (John) Baxter, Cody (Valerie) Sutton, Jimmy (Kaylee) Sutton, Hunter Sutton, Josh Sutton, Ashley, Megan, Paige, and Kyle Knollinger, Lucas, Emma, and Kaitlyn Burns; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Nancy Ludders and Sue Sutton; and many nieces and nephews. HE was preceded in death by his parents, John and Millicent; and his in-laws, Henry and Lena Smith.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a private family service will take place at Ferrysburg Community Church. Memorial contributions in memory of Bill maybe given to the Ferrysburg Community Church Food Pantry. Interment will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
