William Ray Watts' Obituary
Mr. William Ray Watts, age 70, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on March 23, 1952 to Willie and Lucille (Knight) Watts and was a life resident of the area. William was employed by the City of Muskegon Heights for over 35 years and had worked for the Water Department, Pumping Station, and the City Cemetery prior to his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the Church of the Living God where he enjoyed singing in the choir. William was an outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed fixing lawn mowers and small engines, and he was a talented builder. On November 7, 1970, William married the former Glenda Thomas in Muskegon and she survives him along with their daughter, Tracy (Christian) Boyd; four grandchildren, Michelle Horton, Quatilon Watts, Christian Boyd II, and Tiffany Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Denarri Duren, Arthur Duren III, Quatilon Watts Jr., Aaliyah Watts, and Takyra Watts; brother, Steven Watts; and sisters, Jimmy Ezell, Rosa Phillips, and Annie Mae Marshall. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Watts Jr.; and siblings, Ida Mae Gee and Willie Watts. SERVICES for William will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 2, 2022 at Church of the Living God (4249 Quarterline Rd, Muskegon, MI 49444). VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service at church. Burial will be at Mona View Cemetery.
