Mr. William F. "Bill" Williams Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. William F. “Bill” Williams, Jr., age 66, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home. He was born February 3, 1946 in Flint, MI to William F. and Elizabeth A. (Lee) Williams, Sr. and lived in the Muskegon area since 1994. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served 1966-70. On December 28, 1968, he married the former Patricia G. Whitlock and she survives him. Bill earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and his Master’s Degree in Finance from Cleveland State University. Bill worked as an Executive Startup Engineer at numerous nuclear power plants throughout the Midwest. He moved to Muskegon in 1994 where he worked as Director of Operations for Mercy General Health Partners. He retired in 2000 after 5 years as VP of Operations for UNICCO Services. Bill enjoyed reading, camping with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the U of M Alumni Association, and is a former 32nd degree Mason. Bill was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he also served as the business manager 2002-2005. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #706. SURVIVORS include his wife, Patricia; 2 children, Amy (Gary) Dominish of Twin Lake, David (Tonya) Williams of Euclid, OH; 6 grandchildren, Emma, Ben, Ryan, Jaret, John, and Jack; his father and step-mother, William “Fred” and Charlotte Williams, Sr. of Linden, MI; his in-laws, Roger and Marian Whitlock of Twin Lake; 2 brothers, Richard (Karen) Williams of Lewiston, MI, Patrick (Deborah) Williams of Manassas, VA; 1 sister, Diana Reynolds of Mesa, AZ; the Whitlock in-laws; several nieces and nephews; and his companion Golden Retriever, "Maizie". He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Williams and an infant sister. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Harrisville, MI. VISITATION will be 5-8 PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
