William A. Zimmer's Obituary
Mr. William A. Zimmer, age 84, went to be with his Lord, early Tuesday morning, March 26, 2013. He was born May 24, 1928 in Detroit, MI to Delos and Anne (Judson) Zimmer. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked for Geerpres, Inc. for 28 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of Unity Reformed Church, where he served as an Elder and Deacon. Bill was an avid gardener and adored his grandchildren. On October 20, 1950 he married the former Marilyn Kooi, and she survives him along with 4 children, William (Ginger Davis) Zimmer of Casper, Wyoming, Gayle (Robert M.) Townsend of North Muskegon, Cheryl Zimmer, Mark Zimmer both of Norton Shores; 5 grandchildren; 5 ½ great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jerry Zimmer of Norton Shores, and Ted (Pat) Zimmer of Twin Lake. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 3 half brothers, Paul, Don, and Richard Pasco. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8PM Friday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Saturday at Unity Reformed Church (1521 Porter Rd.) with Pastor Kyle DeYoung officiating. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
