William A. "Bill" Reck, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. William A. “Bill” Reck, Jr., age 83, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, February 3, 2006. He was born January 5, 1923 in Muskegon to William A. and Ella (Jespersen) Reck, Sr., and had been a life resident. Mr. Reck was a graduate of Muskegon High School in 1939. He then graduated from Muskegon Community College and attended the University of Michigan. After college, he worked as a government inspector for Continental Motors. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1943, where he served as Lieutenant, and was a B17 Bomber pilot in the 8th Air Force, completing 35 missions during WWII. Mr. Reck was a partner in the Precision Tool Company in Muskegon before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the ASTME (American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers), and a very active charter member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. On June 22, 1946, he married Ruth Ella Jespersen in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife, Ruth, of 59 years; 2 daughters, Linda Harrison of Grand Haven, Colleen (Jack) Adkins of Norton Shores; son, Timothy (Jennifer) Reck of Norton Shores; 8 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; brother, David (Melanie) Reck of Spring Lake; sisters-in-law, Vera Reck of Watervliet, MI and Ruth Elaine Jespersen of Nashua, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Harry and Donald Reck; brother-in-law, Clarence Jespersen; and son-in-law, Greg Harrison. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert J. Conradt officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at
