William A. "Bill" Waterman's Obituary
Mr. William A. “Bill” Waterman, age 72, passed away Friday, April 28, 2006 due to health complications after a long stay in the hospital. He was born November 26, 1933 in Eldridge, MO to Amos and Bonnie (Simons) Waterman and moved to the Muskegon area in 1953. On November 26, 1966, he married the former Jean A. Johnson in Fountain, MI and she preceded him in death on July 3, 2005. He was employed at S. D. Warren (Sappi) as an assistant superintendent of paper machine #5 until he retired in 1992. Mr. Waterman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf until diabetes began to weaken his legs. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and vacationing at his trailer in Luther, MI. He was a charter member of the Lakeside Eagles #3306 and a Gold Card member of the Muskegon Recreation Club. Mr. Waterman was a wonderful man, always there for anyone in need. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Bruce (Maria) Waterman, Patricia Lamadline and Sherri (Gordon) Storms all of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Matthew Waterman, Paulette Hankins, Wendi and Billie Jean Storms and Scott and Melanie Lamadline, all of Muskegon; 1 great grandson, Chance Lamadline of Muskegon; 1 brother, Vernon (Pam) Waterman; 1 sister, Dottie (David) Goens of Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean in 2005, his grandson, Brian Waterman in 2002 and his parents, Amos and Bonnie Waterman. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., with the Rev. John H. Brown officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Mr. Waterman’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
