William E. Coon's Obituary
Mr. William “Bill” E. Coon, age 77, passed away Monday, August 23, 2004. He was born on July 7, 1927 to Henry and Frances (Pratt) Coon in Muskegon, and had resided here his entire life. Bill had a love for the outdoors, both in fishing and hunting, a love of country music, and his country. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, and a member of the American Legion Post #392 in Holton. Bill worked as a mechanic and handyman for Flex Cable. In 1952 he married Gertrude (Tyler) Coon, and she preceded him in death in 1976. In 1979 he then married Waneta Leazenzy, and she preceded him in death in June of 2004. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Daniel Coon and William Coon, Jr. both of Dalton Twp.; 2 grand-children; 1 brother, Vern Coon of Muskegon; 1 sister, Frances “Dolly” VandenBosch of Muskegon; and special friends, Jack (Sharon) Hanor of Grand Rapids. Mr. Coon was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jerry and Walt Coon. GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Sunrise Memorial Garden with Pastor Lowell Anderson officiating with full military rites.
