William E. "Bill" Reek's Obituary
On Monday afternoon Heaven welcomed a hero. Our hero. No matter what the obstacle in his way, Bill met it head on and always found an answer…How do you know if you don’t try? He met his last challenge with his remarkable and constant sense of humor and his undying faith in God. We remember his asking God every day to please help heal him, and finally understanding that God had other plans for him. He left his adoring family, and we believe was escorted to heaven by a host of angels and met by loved ones gone before him, and he got to leave from home, the place he loved most. Bill’s strength and generosity was felt by each one he met in business and personal connections but most of all by his adoring family. Our hero is no longer here with us, but we continue to try to live by his take on life…don’t worry…don’t hurry. Bill leaves behind his best girl, Carol whom he shared 54 years with; three adoring children, Pam (Bill) Pothoff, Sherri (Tom) Schwab and Bill (Jackie, aka beautiful) Reek. The three of them unselfishly and tenderly cared for all his needs. Four grandchildren who loved him beyond words, Jennifer Lynch, Rob (Candice) Gerling, Mindy Gerling and Eric Schwab; two beautiful great grandsons, Izyk and Eli Gerling; and three brothers, John Reek of Muskegon, Jim (Molly) Reek and Ivan (Sharon) Reek both of California; along with several nieces and nephews. According to his wishes, a private gathering will be held. The family requests no flowers, but rather a memorial to VNS Hospice. With broken hearts, but filled with wonderful memories, we bid our hero goodbye until we are reunited once again. Share memories with the family on their Online Guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
