William H. Dixon, Sr.'s Obituary
William Howard Dixon, Sr., age 75, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007 at a local nursing home. Mr. Dixon was born May 3, 1931 to Isaac and Ada Belle (Hoyt) Dixon in Muskegon. On December 1, 1951 he married the former Geneva Bogue. He was a US Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. He was employed at GTE for 29 years and then for Pinkerton Security Service. Mr. Dixon was a member of First Baptist Church and VFW Post #446. He is SURVIVED by his beloved wife of 55 years, Geneva Dixon; 3 children, Linda (Gary) Wood of Whitehall, Karan (Dave Kelly) Dixon of Spring Lake and William H. (Teresa) Dixon, Jr. of Ravenna; 3 grandchildren, Geoffrey (Jessica) Wood, Cristofer (Sara Mulder) Wood and William H. Dixon, III; 1 great-granddaughter, Alexandrea Wood and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Edward R. Dixon and 2 sisters, Margaret Pedler and Nancy Hartman. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 16 at First Baptist Church with Pastor John H. Brown presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
