William H. "Bill" Medema's Obituary
Mr. William H. “Bill” Medema, age 86, died early Monday morning, December 15, 2003 at his home. He was born August 13, 1917 in Ellsworth, MI and had been a resident of Muskegon for most of his life. Mr. Medema owned and operated E & B Auto Sales for over 30 years and most recently worked for Fredricks Construction Co. for the past 22 years. He was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church, was an avid golfer, and loved outdoor sports. In 1937 he married the former Phyllis W. DeVries, and she preceded him in death in 1986. He then married Catherine Vandersloot in Muskegon on October 14, 1989, and she survives him along with a daughter, Patricia (Mike) Harris of Norton Shores; son, Bill (Nancy) Medema of Norton Shores; step-daughter, Jill (Robert) Plank of Hesperia; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest (Pat) Medema of Muskegon; step-brother, Claire Prince of Jenison, MI; 4 sisters, Henrietta (Gerald) Ray of Muskegon, Jennie Nummerdor of Florida, Johanna (Harvey) Beaucamp of Florida, Marlene (William) Eller of Fenton, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, John and Jay Medema. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Ron Nyenhuis and Rev. Jon Rager officiating. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS to the Calvin CRC Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
