William "Zeke" Buchner, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. William C. “Zeke” Buchner, Sr., age 81, passed away Friday morning, March 10, 2006. He was born May 23, 1924 in Hart, MI to George and Rosa (Thomas) Buchner and moved to the Muskegon area 51 years ago. He married the former Betty Mae Stafford on October 19, 1946 and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2000. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he worked as a screw machine operator for General Motors Corp. for 32 years. He was a member of the UAW #167 for many years. Zeke was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active as a trustee. He enjoyed Sunday bowling at Northway Lanes, was an avid deer hunter and especially liked hunting with his boys. Zeke had a special love for his family. SURVIVORS include 9 children, Sandra (David) Cook of Muskegon, Chuck (Anita Adams) Buchner of Luther, MI, Bill (Deb) Buchner of Muskegon, Jim (Dawn) Buchner of Muskegon, Shirley Westcomb of Muskegon, Peggy (James) Vaandering of Muskegon, Marc (Betsy) Buchner of Coopersville, Janice (John) Hruskach of Muskegon, Shelley (Eric) Ingersoll of Muskegon; 28 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; 1 brother, George (Marilyn) Buchner of Hart; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Rose Schaallema and 2 brothers, Henry and Charlie Buchner. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 13, 2006, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (2651 Shettler Rd.) with Pastor Geoffrey Kieta officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
