Willie E. Blake's Obituary
Willie E. Blake, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 18, 2019. He was born on June 27, 1947 to James and Verda (Aubrey) Blake in Willisville, AR. After his time in the service he married Sheila Hobson and to that union were born two beautiful daughters Tamara and Kimberly. On February 2, 1975, Willie symbolized his dedication to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he served as an elder and later a pioneer in the Muskegon South Congregation. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake, playing sports, baking and cherishing fellowship with beloved friends. After he spent 25 years working for Sappi Papermill he retired to become a “snow bird” and gained a beautiful family of friends in Florida. Willie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheila Blake (Hobson), children, Tamara (Bryan) Strickland, Kimberly (Eric) Yinger; brothers James (Barbara) Blake Jr, Darryl Blake; sisters Geraldine Tyson, Mattie Blake and Twanda Blake and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Special thanks to the nurses and aids at Spectrum Hospice for their loving care and support: Danelle, Sarah and Tina. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Willie will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM with family visitation starting at 12:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (360 Eric Ave.).
