Willie M. Butts' Obituary
Mr. Willie M. Butts went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born on April 19, 1963 to Johnnie and Willie Mae (Carson) Butts in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Willie worked at Glenside Pub for 35 years making pizza. His love of cooking extended to his home life and he enjoyed making delicious meals for his friends and family. Willie was raised in the New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church family and was recently a member of New Liberty Church of God. He loved preaching, singing with his brothers and sisters, and working to keep his yard pristine. Willie was a great friend who loved everyone. He was devoted to his wife, Nora Butts, whom he married on August 17, 1997 and she survives him along with his step-children, Melvin (Tequell) Burton Jr and Kendra Burton; step-grandchildren, A'Kasia Willis and Ta'Zaria Burton; step-greatgrandchildren, Khyree Diggs, Rayvone Diggs, and Yahnos Cherry; siblings, Mary Louise (Freddie) Walker, Ethel Gordon, Loretta Butts, Corliss (Clifton) Foster, Jacqueline (Herman) Stapples, and Blake Holt; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Johnnie Mae Butts, Charles Holt, Walter Butts, Alvin Butts, and Herbert Butts; and brother-in-law, Willie Gordon. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, March 19 at Greater New Liberty COGIC (2836 5th St., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444) with Bishop Willie R. Foster officiating.
