Dear Rude Family,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you at this time. I grew up on Weber Rd. sharing a property line with Mr. Rude. I will forever remember asking my Dad if we could go for a walk through the woods to Mr. Rude's property. The elaborate tree swings that he built and rode himself were nothing short of amazing. I loved to see him ride his swings. Nobody else was brave enough to do it. I remember he and his beloved dog, Gypsy, stopping by our house on the weekend to say hello if we didn't see him back on the property. When I had a family of my own, my Dad took my two young boys to the property often. Mr. Rude had an A-Frame building that had a cot, a little stove for heat or cooking and on the wall was a dart board. On the little table there was a notebook and pen. My little guys and Mr. Rude had a never ending game of darts going on all the time. The boys would write notes to him in that notebook and he would leave a note back to them. They absolutely loved that!!! Then when my daughter started school, one of her best friends turned out to be Mr. Rude's granddaughter. What a small world! I loved seeing him at school events. He will be forever missed!!!
