Willodene M. Cerka's Obituary
Mrs. Willodene Mae Cerka, age 80, went to be with her Lord, Monday evening, September 19, 2005, surrounded by her family. She was born April 6, 1925 in South Whitley, IN to Ervin and Hazel (Hale) Wolfe, and had resided in the Muskegon area for over 60 years. On May 19, 1944, she married Lawrence Warren Cerka, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Cerka had been co-owner/manager of Larry’s Gulf and the owner/manager of Kent Motel before her retirement. She was a graduate of Thompsonville High School, enjoyed watching baseball, and loved to garden. But the real love of her life was her family. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Barbara (Jerry) Buzzell of Twin Lake, Helen (Howard) Mortenson of Muskegon, Lawrence (Sue) Cerka, Jr. of Ludington, Marilyn (George) Adams of Spring Lake; 5 grandchildren, Christopher (Vicki) Colbert, Kimberley Colbert, Howard (Lori) Mortenson III, Monica Mortenson, Jill Hudson; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Daniel, Richard, Ronald (Rosemary), and Clayton (Mary) Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, Gordon, and Gerald Wolfe, and a sister, Irma Rust. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2005, at the First Congregational Church in Thompsonville, MI with Rev. Floyd Soper officiating. Burial will be in Thompsonville Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-9 PM Thursday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave.Muskegon, MI 49442(231) 726-5210 and one hour prior to the service at the church in Thompsonville on Saturday.
