Wilma M. Flickema's Obituary
Mrs. Wilma M. Flickema, age 104, went to be with her Lord and Savior November 30, 2021. She was born April 15, 1917, to Herman D. and Rose (Frens) Kolk in Fremont and moved to the Muskegon area in 1956. She was the co-owner of Leloffs Apparel for 35 years before retiring in 1989. She was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church where she belonged to the Women’s Fellowship and enjoyed singing with different groups from church. Most important to her were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. On November 23, 1939, she married John J. Flickema and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2009. Survivors include three children, Dick and Pat Flickema, Judy and Tom Russell, Rose and Ross Kieft, grandchildren, Scott and Jody Flickema, Steve and Debra Flickema, Mary and Dave Plantenga, Todd and Kim Russell, Tim Russell, Jennifer and Jason Hazinski, Anthony and Diane Russell, Melissa and Jeremy VanKampen, Andrea and Lee Sandoval, and Julie Johnson, great-grandchildren, Lyssa, Jill, Matthew, Jonathan, David, Katelyn, Breanna, Elsa, Adam, Rachel, Hannah, Luke, Jake, Kasey, Lilly, Thomas, Henry, Amelia, Arianna, Lee Jr., Tea, Dominick, Colton, and Emerson, great-great-grandchildren, Chanel, Selah, Tysen, Miles, Brodie, and Layna, one brother Herman ((Carol) Kolk. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Joy, one sister Dora, and two brothers, Darrell and Stanley. The funeral service will be Monday, December 6, at 11:00 AM at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Terrace St., Muskegon, 49442. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, also at church. Burial will take place at Lakeshore Cemetery in Grand Haven. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Flickema may made to Bethany Christian Reformed Church, Muskegon Christian School, or Western Michigan Christian High School/Middle School.
