Wilma J. Olson's Obituary
Mrs. Wilma J. Olson, age 87, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016. She was born in Muskegon on November 4, 1928 to John and Josephine (Cooper) Wenk. Wilma enjoyed growing up on Muskegon Lake and the many fish fry’s and boat rides she shared with her family and friends. Wilma was a charter member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church and was a faithful member of Ferrysburg Christian Reformed Church where she was active with the Senior’s Bible Study Group. She enjoyed reading, traveling, crocheting, bowling, playing cards and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. On May 6, 1950, Wilma married Donald C. Olson in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1990. She is survived by three children, Mary (David) Wagner of Muskegon, Thomas (Linda) Olson of Spring Lake and Sue (Edward) Baranowski of Marshall; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene (Carol) Wenk and Richard Wenk; two sisters, Hazel Leiter and Dorothy Weller; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Wenk and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; one brother John Wenk, one sister Annalee MacNab, and two brothers-in-law, Richard MacNab and Harry Weller. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 29, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. Nathan Visker officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, April 28, 2016. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS may be made to Ferrysburg CRC or Grand Pines Activity Fund.
