Wilma Albright Vanderwest's Obituary
Mrs. Wilma Dee Albright Vanderwest, age 81, passed away Tuesday evening, October 2, 2012. She was born March 30, 1931 in Muskegon to James W. and Dorothy (Vegter) Albright. Wilma worked as an L.P.N. at several different nursing homes over the years. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, cross stitch, and almost any type of needle work. She was a perfectionist with her work and her family was the recipient of many of the crafts that she made. SURVIVORS include her children, Stephen (Kathleen) Snider of New Mexico, Laurel (Larry) Scarbrough, Denise (David) Boxer, Dawn Vanderwest, George (Kim) Vanderwest, David Vanderwest, Thomas Vanderwest, Karen Vanderwest, all of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Aloha Hodges of Evart,MI, Betty (Robert) Truesdale of Cedar Springs, Leora (Wade Carroll) Pontious of Florida; 1 sister-in-law, Nancy Albright of Ravenna; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, James Albright; 1 sister, Delores Lockwood; and her former husband, George Vanderwest. THE FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Vanderwest will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 5, at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon,(231) 726-5210 with Rev. Craig Apel officiating. VISITATION will be from 12 noon to 2:00 PM on Friday. Burial will take place at Ravenna Cemetery.
