Wilma A. Sikkenga's Obituary
Mrs. Wilma A. Sikkenga, age 83, went to be with her Lord Friday, February 5, 2010. She was born in Muskegon, MI on February 5, 1927 to William and Minnie (Bush) Kalsbeck. Mrs. Sikkenga retired in 1989 from Oceana Health Department, where she worked as a Registered Nurse for 14 years. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and loved traveling and camping with her grandchildren. On May 23, 1947, she married Edwin J. Sikkenga, and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2008. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Marcia K. (William) Romanosky of Walkerville, MI, Edwin J. (Rebecca) Sikkenga, Jr. of Montgomery, TX, Stephen H. (Jill) Sikkenga of Whitehall, MI, Carolyn J. (Ross) McElroy of Holt, MI, and Daniel W. (Heather) Sikkenga of Adrian, MI; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Lester) Jordan of North Muskegon; and very special friends at Curves (North Muskegon) and her Curves Bible Study Group. Mrs. Sikkenga was also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Carol Siersema and Thelma Greene. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 11AM Monday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with son, Rev. Edwin Sikkenga and son-in-law, Rev. Ross McElroy officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 3-5PM Sunday (today), and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial Contributions to Western Michigan Christian High School, Harbor Hospice or CRWRC Missions will be appreciated.
