Wilma D, Swager's Obituary
Mrs. Wilma D. Swager, age 98, went to be with her Lord Monday evening, April 27, 2009, in Muskegon. She was born February 1, 1911 in Cadillac, MI to William and Mary (Osborn) Bushor and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1916. Wilma had been employed at Breneman-Hartshorn for 44 years prior to her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church (formerly the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints) where she had previously served as Choir and Music Director for both the adults and children; and as its former Pastor’s wife. Wilma was a violinist with the Westshore Symphony for 13 years and also was a member of The Melody Five. On April 2, 1946 she married Elder E. Vernon Swager and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Bushor and sister, Frieda Frost. SURVIVORS include her brother-in-law, Lawrence Swager of Merritt Island, FL; several nieces and nephews, among whom is her nephew, William Frost of Grand Rapids; and by her close friend, Barbara Sundell of Muskegon. SERVICES will be 1PM Friday, May 1, 2009 at Community of Christ Church (2671 Ducey St.) with Elder William Sager officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION with Wilma’s family will be one-hour prior to the service. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider Community of Christ Church.
