Wilma L. Schelske's Obituary
Wilma was born on Hill Street in Manistee, Michigan on August 31, 1921 to William Hans Jepsen and Florence Gustafsen. She was raised in Grand Haven and Muskegon on Jackson Hill. She met and married Clifford Leroy Schelske Sr. on October 26, 1940 in Muskegon. They spent their married life raising their five children in Twin Lake. She retired from Howmet after 33 years. The Good Lord called Wilma home on February 1, 2011. She is survived by her five children: Judith (Raymond) Marvin of Twin Lake, Clifford Leroy Schelske Jr. of Muskegon, Linda (James) Kibart of Holton, William (Freida) Schelske of Twin Lake, Jack Schelske of Brohman; three sisters, Esther (Nick) Vandervelde of Muskegon, Betty (Bob) Thomas (formerly Sietsema) of Florida, Helen (Donald) Fortier of Norton Shores; one brother, Richard Duncan of Augusta, Maine; 3 sisters-in-law, June (Charles) Jepsen of North Muskegon, Anita (Schelske) Baker White of Florida and Wanda (William) Jepsen of Norton Shores; 15 grandchildren: 27 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and uncountable nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Cliff on December 5, 1977; her stepmother, Mabel Jepsen; her sister, Jane (Fred) Kennedy; four brothers, William, Jack, Charles and Clifford (Skip) Jepsen; four brothers-in-law, Nick, Don, Fred, Bob and two sisters-in-law, Marlene Duncan and Kathy Jepsen. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Monday, February 7, 2011 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. VISITATION with the family will be 2-5PM on Sunday. Burial will take place in the spring at Holton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association will be appreciated.
