YuVonne L. Austin's Obituary
Mrs. YuVonne Louise Austin, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2020. She was born on November 7, 1927 to Harrison and Sylvia (VanVleet) Davis Sr in Muskegon. On September 21, 1946, YuVonne married Vern Austin in Montague, MI and he preceded her in death exactly 10 years earlier on October 1, 2010. YuVonne retired from Christian Care Assisted Living where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was a faithful and active member of Calvary Church for many years. She used to crochet blankets and loved traveling around the United States with Vern visiting friends and family. YuVonne adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cherished the moments spent with them. She will be missed by her six children, Doug (Patti) Austin, Dennis (Mary) Austin, Deborah (Tom) VanMunster, Greg (Sarah) Austin, Gordan Austin, and Steve (Shelia) Austin; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Vern, YuVonne was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Henrietta Stephens, Harrison Davis Jr, and Van Davis. A Memorial Service will be held 10AM, Saturday, October 10 at Calvary Church (213 W. Oak St., Fruitport, 49415) with Pastor Keith Sandison and Pastor Bill Rudd officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 9-10AM. Memorial contributions in YuVonne’s name may be directed to Senior Resources of Muskegon, Harbor Hospice Foundation or Calvary Church.
