Yvonne Helen Bird's Obituary
Yvonne Bird, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She will be loved and forever missed dearly. Yvonne was born October 25, 1930 in Muskegon Heights to Albert and Lillian (Gundersen) LeMieux. She married the love of her life, her high School sweetheart, James Leonard Bird on July 7, 1951. Together they spent 63 wonderful years together until his passing in August of 2014. She is survived by her son, Jim (Dee) Bird; daughter, Judy (Bill) Novak; five grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Novak, Ben (Rachael) Novak, Jason (Jen) Bird, Steve (Lizzie) Bird, Kevin (Taryne) Bird; nine great grandchildren, Brielle, Addisyn, Kyron, Kasyn, Trevor, Ellie, Mason, Michaela and Mia. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harold “Bud”, Gordon, and David LeMieux; two sisters, Dorothy Olah and Audrey Lillmars. Yvonne was an active member of McGraft Memorial Congregational Church. She was on the diaconate board, care ministry, visitation committee, and made lots of prayer shawls when someone was sick. A private family graveside service will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. For a more lasting memory, donations in Yvonne’s name can be made to either Port City Church – McGraft Campus (1617 Palmer Ave.) or The American Cancer Society.
