Yvonne Dawn King's Obituary
Yvonne Dawn King, age 89, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Yvonne was born June 5, 1933 in Edmore, MI to W.J. and Violet (Baddis) Nadeau and grew up in Fremont before settling in the Muskegon area where she lived most of her life. Yvonne married Roger C. King in Muskegon on April 9, 1976 and Roger passed away on January 9, 2009. Yvonne worked as a Lab Tech for Gerbers in Fremont and later at the Cradle Shop where she gained many lasting friendships that remained over the years. She was a member of the Muskegon Vikings Linne’ Lodge #57, the Muskegon Eagles Lodge #668, and the Muskegon Elks Lodge #274. Yvonne enjoyed trips to the casino, dancing, Elvis, and an occasional cocktail. She cherished attending the many sporting events for her grandchildren and was their loudest cheerleader. You could stop by at any time, and she welcomed you with open arms and a beef roast dinner. Yvonne was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Survivors include 10 children, Terri (Charles) Oyler, Patti (David) McGough, Bradley (Rita) King, Lynne (Edward) Radatz, Lori Pardee, Rochelle King, Robin VanderMeulen, Joni (Tom Rinness) King, Tammi (Jake) Veltman, Lance (Mary) Broersma; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jane Ann Rottman, Vicki Hendrix; lifelong friend of 62 years, MaryAnn Seymour; special friend, Jerry Carlson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger King, her son, Richard King, her parents and 4 brothers. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 20, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Rev. Dr. William J. Rudd officiating. Interment will follow at Norton Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
