Yvonne R. Kramer's Obituary
Yvonne R. Kramer, age 94, of Ferrysburg passed away Monday, April 20, 2026, at home. She was born on February 18, 1932, in Grand Haven to John C. and Bertha J. (Honholt) Dirkse. She married Joe Kramer on January 28, 1955, in Grand Haven and the two enjoyed seventy-one years of marriage.
Yvonne attended Grand Haven Christian School and graduated from Grand Haven High School, class of 1950. She then went to Calvin College for pre-nursing, and graduated from Blodgett School of Nursing in 1953, as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career began at Grand Haven Hospital, Zeeland Hospital, prior to working for Dr. A.J. VandeWaa for twenty-five years and numerous other Dr.’s before retiring in 1994, when she and Joe began wintering in Florida from 1995 – 2010. Yvonne was a longtime faithful member of First Christian Reformed Church in Grand Haven and helping out in the library. She golfed in the Grand Haven Golf Club Ladies League for many years. Her other interests were knitting, gardening, and doing crafts.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Joe Kramer; daughter, Karri (David) Jasperse; son, Kelly (Tony Estevez) Kramer; two grandchildren, Kathryn (Chris) Bigler, and Jennifer Jasperse; two sisters, MaryJo Poel, and Lois Radigan; her brother, Ronald (Dorothy) Dirkse; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard (Carol L.) Dirkse, and two brothers-in-law, Russ Poel and Jim Radigan.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417. Friends may meet the family on Thursday, April 23, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to Grand Haven Christian School or the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
